Healthy Snack ideas!

Here are a bunch of healthy snack ideas for you! I’ve included all the foods/combinations I enjoy and a variety of options so you can take the ideas that work well with your food sensitivities and time needs. Some of these, you can prep ahead for the week and others you can keep on hand for when you need something to grab and go.

  • Avocado with salt or with olives

  • Additive/nitrate free sliced ham by itself or wrapped around avocado and mustard

  • Avonacho cream- I will make one for the week and use for various snacks and meals. I will sometimes eat it by itself when there is no other food around. It is very satisfying! Here’s the recipe! https://www.sarahgracenutritionaltherapy.com/avonacho-cream/

Other snacks to eat with the Avonacho cream

                       *EPIC jerky

                       *Carrot sticks and celery

                       *Plantain chips

  • Boiled eggs/deviled eggs if tolerated

  • EPIC bars- these are a great protein snack!
  • Can of sardine, smoked oyster, packet of wild caught salmon- great to have on hand for a quick snack. Simple to eat by themselves when in a pinch or with avocado or homemade mayo.

*Tip- Make sure the seafood is wild caught-not farm raised and also check the ingredients for additives and poor quality oils like canola.
~Not a fan of sardine? If you have extra time to make your snack-throw a can of sardine in a food processor, add avocado and mustard and you will have a super yummy dip you can eat by itself or with raw veggies. This is so filling and trust me-it makes the sardine taste more like salmon if the taste/texture of sardine just isn’t for you!

  • Hard boiled eggs/deviled eggs if tolerated

  • Nut butter with banana or apple

  • Dried Mango/other fruits as tolerated

  • Dairy free Yogurt- my favorite brand is LAVA but have also used the CocoYo brand in the past

  • Lara bars in moderation
  • Beet chips and guacamole cups

  • Honorable mention-leftovers! Already made and easy to grab and usually a balanced option!

  • Okay and also I do eat dark chocolate as a snack sometimes. Just has to be said! 😉 I have a friend who likes to eat it with coconut oil and that’s a great option to add too!

Let me know what your favorite snack is!
